We are at a very interesting time in our business. ASEA is committed to the direct selling channel and to bringing our life-changing products to the world. We are doing exciting things, such as introducing new products like REDOXGold™ into the marketplace and enhancing what is available to our wonderful and committed associate base.

With all the exciting things happening, how do each of our associates take full advantage of the opportunity? Here are a few thoughts that the Operations teams of ASEA remember as we work to ensure ASEA performs at the high standard that is required for our business.

Effort

Nothing replaces the grind. Effort can win the day, and consistent effort over time can enable you to reach the mountaintop. Jerry Rice currently holds most of the career records for an NFL wide receiver. When he was asked how he accomplished this, he responded, “Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.” Our effort today can change what our tomorrow can become.

Influence

“Leadership is influence; nothing more, nothing less.” John Maxwell, a well-respected leadership author, has stated this over and over again. As you spend time prospecting and talking to everyone you can, remember that as you show leadership, people will want to follow you. We show leadership by gaining influence with people. We gain influence by being genuine, truly caring about them as a person, and knowing when to promote the opportunity and when to simply be there for the individual. People will follow you if they believe in and trust you. Gain that belief and trust first.

Perseverance

Sometimes despite all we do, things don’t work out. Not every plan works, and not every prospect will join the business. People who are successful all failed or fell short at times. The difference is they didn’t let that stop them. Winners will find a way to overcome the obstacle and not stop until they reach their goal. Just keep going.

Total accountability

It is easy for all of us when things go wrong to blame something, or someone.  One of my favorite quotes is from author and retired US Navy SEAL Jocko Willink: “Leaders must own everything in their world. There is no one else to blame.”  If we truly look inward, and try to correct and improve what we can control, and let go of what we can’t, we will find success. We have to own our business and focus on what we can do to grow it.

I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to work with so many wonderful associates around the world. Your commitment to sharing our products, opportunity, and culture with the world is awe inspiring. I believe you can accomplish anything, and am grateful to be with you on this journey.

Sincerely

David Jenson
